Traveling the world is a magical, eye-opening experience, but, realistically speaking, you need to have money to fund your travels. Let’s face it, without enough cash, you wouldn’t be able to purchase food, fund the transportation and pay for a hotel/ living space. Yet, while traveling, it’s very hard to hold down a full-time gig. You can however save some money by couch surfing and taking cheap flights like Ryanair and Easyjet but you need to earn money while travelling in order to keep on with your travel. However, thanks to the internet, making money while on-the-go is possible. Here are a few ways you can earn a little extra spending money during your travels.

Teach the locals English

Teaching others English while traveling is a simple way to make money. A lot of people are interested in learning the English tongue, so you could offer your services for an affordable rate. You can even trade your services for food or shelter.

Write

As long as you have a grasp of the English language, an internet connection and good grammar, you can write freelance to make a little money on the side. There are thousands of content writing websites that pay you to write articles and blog posts. Textbroker is a great writing company that pays you to write quality content, SEO articles and blog posts. You can also write for local publications and magazines.

Sell photo

Freelance photography is a simple way to make a quick buck during your travels. You can take numerous pictures of different things like landscapes, animals and even people and sell them to magazines, local publications and even blogs and websites. As long as you have a camera and internet access, you can make money this way.

Hotel work

If you plan to stay for a long time in a certain location, why don’t you get a part-time job at the hotel you’re staying at? Hotels usually have jobs available for travelers like front desk work, room service work or entertainment positions. Apart from making money to fund your travels, you can meet new people and even get a hotel discount. It’s a win-win situation.

Be a travel blogger

Travel blogging is the perfect way to make money: You’ll get a chance to document your trip while making a quick buck. The trick to making your blog profitable is to display ads on it. If people click on the ads, you’ll make money. The more people read your blog, the better because there are higher chances of someone clicking an ad. Another way to make your blog profitable is to sell things on it or accept donations from your readers. The great thing about blogging is you’ll be able to write wherever you are whether you are in Bangkok, Spain or Las Vegas.

Online store

If you have a product you can sell, then you are set for life. Starting an online store is an inexpensive way to make money from home or your hotel. Perhaps you can sell handmade goods, an interesting product or even exotic merchandise.

Sell arts and crafts at the local marketplace

If you’re crafty, then you can make unique trinkets and sell them at the outdoor marketplaces. All you have to do is set up a table and you’re good to go.
