Most famously, we have London, but if you’re travelling to the UK you can also consider a visit to the historical York, Cambridge or Oxford. If you have a little more time, do a bit of a road trip and explore Wales or Scotland. In order to maximise your stay in the UK, it’s important that you plan ahead and check out these exciting spots.

Useful travelling tips to discover the UK

  • If you planning on seeing some sights by train please take into account that buying tickets on the day will be much more expensive than booking in advance. There are also some budget bus providers, such as Megabus, which can also help you to save some pounds. Renting a car could also be an option, but do some comparative research first as prices can vary quite drastically.
  • Plenty of cities and attractions will also offer discounts when booking online and in advance, so if you have planned out your route, ensure you check if you can save some extra cash. Websites such as tripadvisor.co.uk and the like can help you decide which attractions are worth spending your money on. It can really help you narrow down your list of options and can help you avoid disappointing experiences.
  • Almost all major cities have a tourist information website and tourist information offices. For the latest information on free attractions and festivals, pay a visit to one of them. Who knows, you might discover there is a farmer’s market to visit.
  • For the full UK experience, indulge in some typical British pastimes. Have a Full English Breakfast, get some fish & chips, pop by a pub, pay a visit to one of their many betting and casino spots and participate in the crazy British nightlife. If you want to skip straight ahead to their nightlife, you could also catch on online game at Euro Palace and check out their Euro Palace Loyalty programme.
  • Talk about pubs, although most pubs offer a similar menu, there can be quite a difference in price and quality. Do some research first, ask some locals about their favourite pubs. The best known pub does not necessarily have to be the best one around. You might end up finding a hidden gem that isn’t mentioned anywhere in the tourist information available.

All in all, it can pay to do some research. The United Kingdom has so much to offer. Whatever you are after, you can find it there.
