The Royal Borough of Windsor in the south of England is synonymous with the British Royal Family. A truly beautiful riverside town, just south of the Thames, it’s a great place to escape to from the hustle and bustle of London. Windsor Castle

No guide on what to do in Windsor can be complete without this essential sight. By far the town’s most famous landmark, and home to the Royal Family for centuries, it’s one of the most-visited places in the country. Windsor Castle is the largest and oldest occupied castle in the world and its dramatic 13-acre site encapsulates 900 years of British history. There are free family audio tours to help you get the most out of your visit, as well as a fun education centre with activities for little ones.

Legoland

Another major attraction in Windsor, this year sees Legoland go pirate crazy. At the Pirates Landing part of the park there’ll be swashbuckling classes where you can brush up on your seafaring skills and you can test out your sea legs on the brand new swinging pirate boat ride. Be prepared to get wet on the hunt for treasure on the Pirate Falls Dynamite Drench Adventure, and of course, there’s a whole park parked with Lego wonders to explore, including over 15 cafes and restaurants for hungry bellies.
